League Analysis

Alpha Ruby

League Favorites:

While teams like the Atlanta Caneros (14-5), Fort Worth Horned Frogs (12-7), New Orleans Pineapples (12-7), and Boston Red Sox 1 (12-7) are always viable options for the Alpha Ruby League favorites, there are two baby teams that are making a case for themselves, and why THEY should be considered among the league's best. Those two teams are the New York 62 Mets (18-1) and the Berkeley Evergreen (17-2). Is it beginner's luck, or do these two teams, who are each in their first season in existence, have what it takes to beat out teams such as the Caneros, Horned Frogs, Pineapples, and Red Sox 1?

North:

This division wouldn't be interesting at all if it weren't for the New York 62 Mets (18-1). A rookie team in their first season, the 62 Mets have surprised everyone in Franchise Ball by sporting the best record in the game (Tied with Spokane Warriors). A well above average offense paired with easily the best pitching in Alpha Ruby, the 62 Mets are making a case for themselves in their first season, and it will be interesting to see just how far they can go.

South:

Welcome to quite arguably the worst division in Alpha Ruby. While there are some teams who have made headlines in this division before, such as the Boston Bean Boys (10-9), the Carracas 3-run homers (9-10), and the New York Cartagena Yankees (6-13), none of these have made really positive impacts on the league so far, and it remains to be seen who will take this division. Any way it turns out though, it is hard to see any situation where any of these teams makes it very far into the playoffs.

East:

A three-way race for the division lead is always a very exciting dilemma, and as of right now, that is exactly what we have here in the East! The Boston Red Sox 1 (12-7), the St. Johns Raptors (12-7), and the Grand Rapids Gleybars (12-7) are going head to head in what should be an exciting division. Look for the Gleybars to fall off a little bit as we near the halfway point of the season, but not enough to make the other two teams any more comfortable...

West:

While the New York 62 Mets are showing off in the North, there is another upstart team in the West who is vying for their spot on the leaderboards when it comes to new teams. The Berkeley Evergreen are currently the owners of a record of 17-2, and are yet another young team turning heads in Alpha Ruby this season. With a 7 game lead over the Ugly Dishwashers (10-9) and the Pittsburgh Phantoms (10-9), the Evergreen are already running away with this division, and are considered the heavy favorites.

Northeast:

Y3tnskFURRLAND - I'm sorry, come again? Yes, you read that correctly. There are some really interesting names in Franchise Ball, but that one trumps them all. Although they had a late start, this bot team is 6-1 this season, and will have enough games to qualify for the playoffs. Whether or not they stay hot remains to be seen. Yet another rookie team, the McKinney Miners (13-6), are second in the division, followed closely by the Melbourne Meerkats (12-7) and the Detroit Tigers (12-7). Not only does this division feature some extremely intriguing team names and locations, but it is also shaping up to be quite the race.

Northwest:

Alpha Ruby Northwest, home to the Seattle Admins. The founder of the wonderful game of Franchise Ball, the man who has the power to do pretty much whatever he wants, and the team that is STILL incapable of winning games. Players around Franchise Ball have made a push for Admins to attempt at his first Alpha Ruby title ever, yet season 99 rolls around with Admins sitting at the bottom of the league once again at 4-15. On the flip side, Atlanta Caneros (14-5), Sioux Falls SDCC Penguins (13-6), and the two Baton Rouge teams (Ball Beaters: 12-7 and Joe Mamas: 11-8) are making this division race interesting, as we wait with bated breaths to see who will come out on top.

Southeast:

Although Gvuyvugvugvyg (11-8) and the Richmond Racers (11-8) are both three games over the .500 mark at this point in the season, this division is expected to come down to a race between the Fort Worth Horned Frogs (12-7) and the New Orleans Pineapples (12-7). Both teams have been to the World Playoffs multiple times, and are looking to do just that once again.

Southwest:

One of the more uninteresting divisions in Alpha Ruby, this division features two teams sitting at 4-15 (the Billings Ballers and the San Diego Boomers). As of right now, it seems like the Outriders (10-9) will take this division, but that could change in the blink of an eye.
